As some of you may already know from previous posts, my daughter has a severe peanut allergy. It’s hard to send her off to a friend or relative’s house without worrying she might come in contact with peanuts. After all, unless you are a parent of a child who has a severe food allergy, you won’t think to be OCD over what’s in your food.
We’ve had so many close calls. Despite constant reminders to my family that A is allergic to peanuts, somehow, peanuts always makes its debut and it’s mega frustrating. Thankfully, I’ve stumbled across this innovative allergy alert bracelet called AllerGuarder.
How it works
AllerGuarder is a water-resistant bracelet made of hypo-allergenic silicone and equipped with Bluetooth technology. It broadcasts your child’s food allergy alert by downloading the app. Unlike other bracelets, information such as emergency contacts, food allergy lists and what to do in the event of a reaction, gets stored in the bracelet. Traditional allergy alert bracelets tend to get overlooked, which is one of the reasons AllerGuarder was created.
All you need to do is download the free app and input your child’s food allergy information. Whether it’s a relative or friend, as long as they download the app onto their smartphone or device, they can access your child’s Allergy information.
